Nomination Process

Nomination is the first step toward induction into the Saginaw County Sports Hall of Fame. Anyone from the general public can nominate an individual or team for consideration for the Saginaw County Sports Hall of Fame. No individual or team will be considered for induction into the Hall of Fame unless they have been nominated and meet the Hall’s criteria.

To nomination an individual or team, simply download a printable version of the nomination form. After filling it out, please send it along with as much information you can provide to: Saginaw County Sports Hall of Fame. Attn: Selection Committee Chairman. P.O. Box 20301. Saginaw, MI 48602. You can also submit this information online.

Please provide as much information as possible to give them the best possible chance of being placed on the ballot. Use the back of the nomination form if needed. The more information provided will help the Selection Committee with their assigned duties. A skimpy nomination form may result in your athlete/team being overlooked.

Finally, make sure you submit your contact information. If the athlete/team you nominate ends up being voted in, we may contact you to be in the testimonial video.

Criteria For Nomination

1. The Saginaw County Sports Hall of Fame is open to any individual, male or female, that has achieved outstanding success in the field of athletics. That person either resided in Saginaw County at the time of their achievement, or was originally from the area.

2. Any interscholastic or professional athlete must be out of competition for five years prior to entering the Saginaw County Sports Hall of Fame. The five year rule is waived for recreation athletes and coaches.

3. The Saginaw County Sports Hall of Fame is open to all individuals from throughout Saginaw County who have made outstanding contributions off the field of play.

4. Benefactors will be considered for induction for the Saginaw County Sports Hall of Fame by the consensus of its overall steering committee.

5. At least one nominated team will be selected by the steering committee each year for induction.

6. A persons name will appear on the ballot for three years. After that time, their name will be placed back into the pool of candidates for the Selection Committee to review in upcoming years.
